About Me

If you’ve just stumbled across my blog, you probably have no clue who I am or what my deal is. My name is Karen and I am a woman living British Columbia, Canada, trying to sort my thoughts out and taking on my life journey head on. I started this blog after years of pondering, not so much because I am looking to get into the “blogger”  lifestyle, more because I was about to blow up with emotions and was looking for a new way to connect with others who might be stranded on the same storm. A little over 3 years ago I also became a mom, and now I am also learning about the joys and challenges of parenting while managing my mental health.

In 2016 I was diagnosed with severe clinical depression, and from that moment on I have embarked in a self discovery and healing path, one that may sound pretty zen and all but it’s been a lot more crazy than magical. Shortly after I was diagnosed, my partner gave me a journal and encouraged me to write as a tool for my own healing;  I continued to write on an almost daily basis from that point on. I hope by sharing my story I can help others, even in the tiniest way, to cope with their own stuff and offer some sense of community, to feel less alone.

Well you have been warned, I am not an experienced blogger or anything so hold on to your butts!

DISCLAIMER: I am not a certified psychologist, psychiatrist, etc., so anything I share here is my own personal experience. If you are concerned about your mental health, please seek professional help. If I can suggest resources for you I’m more than happy to but I am not here to give medical advice. Ok NOW you can hold on to your butts!!
